I had gone to accenture’s party today. The party looked more like a college fest than a corporate party. They had a jumping balloon (or what ever it is called) there, and unlike other places this guy let us go in. Must have got into one of those after some 7-8 years. Then I also got my sketch done and it was horrible.

Another interesting thing there was the tarot reader. Yeh for the first time tried something like that. Now this is what he told me:

1. You are lucky and get a lot of stuff by luck (wanted to tell him loser I work, have never even won a bingo game by luck)

2. You’ll have to struggle now to get work done (now he was making me think should I get up before he says more bad stuff but I stayed on as the next card was looking good atleast by the picture on it)

3. You’ll go onsite in next one year (now this I think accenture senior management must have told him to say this, so that the employees feel better)

4. Only after you get into a relationship you’ll do well financially (any girl listening out there, or am i supposed to look out for a rich girl).

That’s enough I thought, before he speaks more and makes me actually go back home and think about it i said thank you and left.

Last month log

Last month was just incredible. Worked in shifts, did production release, went for trekking, attended year end party and saw all the movies released- de dana dhan, paa, 3 idiot, avatar and radio (wasting a lot of money)

It all started with radio and a stay over at kushals place. We had gone crazy that day to go watch himesh bhai. We realized the stay over idea was completely insane after having a bad hangover at work next day. What a bad day it was I had to work till 8 as I was in shift, damn I hate those shifts.

Returned back to office on saturday for a production release, was expecting it to end in 5 mins as just had to run 2 commands and send a 2 mails. But god had other plans, no thing worked that day. I was highly pissed off and only after 2 hrs finally got it to work and ran to catch a cab, as I was already late for thek. After taking a string of cab, rickshaw, bus and train reached neral, the start of our trekking destination. After starting the trek at 5 we just had an hour to reach the camp site as sun was setting but I was relaxed as we had a professional with us. But that feeling suddenly changed to worry after we got lost and couldn’t find our way. Then we camped at an unknown location at the bottom. First time I stayed in those tents it was an amazing experience, not that comforting though and first time held a snake in my hand (obviously it was a non poisonous one). Next morning started trek early and after walking between trees, climbing rocks, releasing four snakes and walking on the edge of the mountain (risking our precious lives) ended it all at 4 in the evening.

Then after a few days, we had out year end party at renaissance. Just like last year it was great fun. There were all kinds of drinks and music and I food too but I didn’t go there so cant tell more about that. I think we should have quarter end parties instead of year end parties to keep people motivated. Though month end would be a great idea too ;)...

Now looking forward to 31^st…making big plans for that, lets see if people agree and I’ll end my year on a high note(not literally).

November first week is gonna be fun as i have finally decided to go to Udaipur.I just hope the weather's good out there. Goin there for a friends brothers wedding. That rascal has just giving us one way tickets, thats the fun part. There's maximum chance that i wont return back on time(dont telll this to my boss) :)

Another thing i learned today - Nobody believes you if you fall sick after a long weekend and skip a day. Ok i agree even i would not,if my teammate did the same. But i was seriously unwell...u dont believe me? thats ok no1 did ;)

What else...work's going great(whenever it comes)...eating out regulary...watching movies...trying to study...

My PC is dying, its asking for a makeover. With just 40GB harddisk and 512 RAM and CRT its difficult to play even FIFA 07, am just left with those stupid flash games from office. We should actually call them the bankruptcy games. Coz they were the best thing to kill time in office and keep the competition alive. The ride the beer truck competition...remember han?

Bankruptcy day TP se yaad aaya ‘Le’mera’. Lemera I don’t remember whose initiative it was but we all stretched the discussion too much that I was inspired(or may be I just didn’t have any thing better to do in life than) to make a website for that.

There was an engineer, manager and programmer driving down a steep mountain road.

The brakes failed and the car careened down the road out of control.

Half way down the driver managed to stop the car by running it against the embankment narrowing avoiding going over a cliff.

They all got out, shaken by their narrow escape from death, but otherwise unharmed.

The manager said "To fix this problem we need to organize a committee, have meetings, and through a process of continuous improvement, develop a solution."

The engineer said "No that would take too long, and besides that method never worked before. I have my trusty pen knife here and will take apart the brake system, isolate the problem and correct it."

The programmer said "I think your both wrong! I think we should all push the car back up the hill and see if it happens again."

I need to change coz this is the way even I think :)

I am working for LB today but not sure about tomorrow. We had party yesterday all from Prime services had come. Will tell later about the party, this post is to write abt my fellow tdp’s.

Sandeep or sandy- in college we were in the same class but we never got time to know each other. May be we were too busy in our own worlds. Now he’s my friend. sandy has opinion abt every thing and salla notices even the smallest of things u do. But he cool and good at heart. A PJ for him- now he’s working on LCAM if Japanese company buys us they’ll give him Digcam to work on…haha(I know only I laughed).
Next. Mr. Anant Kejriwal- was in college too, but we became frnds here. He could have won the most hardworking tdp award for working late till 8 every day. May be this is the reason why he’s enjoying the most now. We call him the ambassador of malad for his love for so called malad companies. He’s one of the most popular guy here. And yes he knows Struts…So if u have a company in malad with a vacancy for struts developer he’s the man for u.
Rohit- same college same class. He’s intelligent and a good athlete. One more thing he cannot tie a tie (I do it for him). Working hard this time I hope he learns to tie a tie before he gets into iim’s.
And few more people I met Pratik- the great programmer. Shekhar- the super cool guy always in his own world. Ankit- vesit topper I think all nerds should look at him and learn something. Nelville or Neville? chod call him colin- a movie buff, retard is his favorite word.

I might have missed some one in this list excuse me (su mi ma se n) for that as it is 1 o clock at midnight and am feeling sleepy.

It’s been a while since I last posted any thing. Perhaps from now on I’ll regularly post. Is anyone else reading this-- I doubt. I just completed two months in Lehman and I didn’t even realize. I didn’t expect getting acquainted to my work so fast. After spending engineering college years having fun I was expecting a uphill task ahead, but its been good…actually great. I coded jsp/servlets donno how but I learnt myself and did it. Shikhar(will tell u later about him) has been very helpful. But its incredible how i could do it…

Saw Rock On today. Really good movie, a must watch. I always wanted to learn to play a musical instrument but never got a chance to learn something other than my sea cadet bugle (am not sure whether I can call it a musical instrument). But as they say its never too late, am thinking of learning how to play a guitar. But how will I learn, will yoga guide me? I doubt he’ll have time and patience. Then…then…lets see first I have to buy one. Will tell you what happened to this thought later...Bye for now...

I saw interwiew of this guy- Sidharth Rao, on Young Turks (CNBC TV 18) quite an interesting profile and an inspiration to budding entrepreneurs.

Sidharth Rao is the (chief executive officer) and co-founder of Webchutney, a full service interactive agency in India. Sidharth is also an investor in JuxtConsult, an online research firm based in Delhi.

Webchutney
Sidharth Rao, along with his friend and business partner Sudesh Samaria, co-founded Webchutney in April 1999, when he was 19 years old and with less than two years of work experience.
A college drop-out and self-educated entrepreneur who set off to become a Textile Engineer but instead ended up starting an agency, Webchutney has been described by Business Today, India’s leading business weekly, as one of the country’s 10 CoolCompanies.
Prior to Webchutney, Sidharth had short stints as copywriter at Grey Worldwide and client servicing at Mudra DDB and a couple of internet services companies including the now defunked NetAcross.
